Permanent makeup, also known as micropigmentation or cosmetic tattooing, is a cosmetic procedure that involves the application of pigments into the skin using either a microblade or tattoo machine to mimic the look of traditional makeup. Unlike traditional makeup, which is temporary and needs to be applied daily, permanent makeup is designed to last for an extended period, typically several years.
Let’s talk brow styles.
Microblading & Nano Brows
Microblading and Nano Brows are your most natural permanent brow options. These styles are meant to replicate the look of natural hair-strokes. The only technical difference between these two styles is that Microblading uses a blade and Nano uses a tattoo machine to create hair-strokes. Because this style is so natural, it will require more filling in if you choose to make them bolder with makeup.
Microblading is best for normal to dry skin types, and those who have naturally fuller brows without any severe asymmetries.
Nano is better for all skin types including oily and aging/mature skin. Causes less trauma to the skin and may last longer than Microblading.
Hybrid Brows
Hybrid Brows are natural yet they have a little more added definition. With this style you will get natural hair-like strokes in the front of the brow and shading throughout the body of the brow. This style can correct brows that are uneven and have asymmetries. For the person who wants to wake up and go in the morning.
Hybrid is best for all skin types including oily and aging/mature skin, or someone who has sparse or full brows.
Ombre Brows
Ombre Brows consist of full shading from the front of the brow to the tail. The color starts lighter in the front and gradually gets darker towards the ends. This will heal more similar to a brow tint. Typically for someone who wants a bolder or more “filled in” look.
Ombre is great for all skin types. Shaded styles will heal and age the best over time.

Permanent brows is a 2 step process. The initial service and touch up 6-10 weeks later. The touch up or “perfecting session” is to go over any areas that have faded, adjust shape and color if necessary. Sometimes an additional touch up is warranted, but will come at an additional cost. After this, it will be essential to get touch ups every 1-3 years to maintain color and shape.

The Appointment Process
It is now the day of your brow appointment. I will have you lie down and consult with you about your brow shape, goals, and what you are hoping to achieve with your permanent brow service. We will review things like your skin type, oil production and lifestyle to determine what service will age and heal the best for you.
After the consultation, the brow mapping will begin. Based off of the information given to me, I will start to draw out a shape best suited for your face frame, natural brow anatomy, and brow goals. If there are any asymmetries in the brow, this is the time to balance out the shape as much as possible. Perfect symmetry is not realistic but we can get them looking as close as possible. The goal is to enhance the brows you already have so it is important to stay close to the natural hairline when creating the shape. Going too far outside the hairline does not look realistic. You must take into consideration your natural brow shape and if that aligns with your brow goals. If some hair is needed to be removed to achieve the shape you want, regular hair removal will be necessary for keeping up with your new shape.
Once the shape is drawn, I will get approval from the client to make sure they are happy with the shape drawn. It is okay to make changes to the drawing as it is your brows that you need to be happy with. Once you are happy with any final changes and the client gives the final okay for the shape, we will finish the drawing and move on to the next step. (Mapping may appear more "boxy" and bolder than how the brows will actually appear after the service. It is important to remember we are working off your natural brow anatomy and the hair strokes will flow with your natural hairline and shape.)
After the shape is decided we will choose the color based off your natural brow hair and skin undertone to determine the best color for you.
If you are getting microblading, you will get a topical anesthetic on the area for 10-20 minutes. If getting nano or hybrid brows, I will start the outline and first pass of shading without numbing to ensure a nice outline and better color retention. Before continuing further I will then apply a topical numbing cream. After numbing, more passes will be required to reach the desired saturation and color.
Once I feel like we've reached the desired look, I will then show you the final results. Brows will appear bolder, darker, warmer and may be swollen right after the procedure which is completely normal.
Once your appointment has been completed we will schedule your touch up 4-8 weeks after your initial appointment. Any permanent brow service is a 2 step process. Sometimes a 3rd touch up is needed to make minimal changes. Any additional touch ups come at an extra cost.
How is the healing process?
Initially after the treatment it is normal for the skin to feel tender, itchy, and dry. The brows will appear darker, bolder, and warmer in color over the next few days. it will take about 7-14 days for the brows to heal. This varies from person to person. Your skin may get dry and flakey, the color will lighten 30-50% and the brows will shrink in size. It is normal to see some areas may become patchy like there is pigment missing. Some areas may not take as well during the first appointment, which is what the touch up is for. It's imperative to be patient during the healing cycle, as lots of changes may happen to the brows. This is all normal. It takes approximately 4-6 weeks for the skin to be fully regenerated. At this point you will then be able to see to true color and shape of which your brows have healed to.
Aftercare Instructions
Right after the service blot the brows with a clean cotton round or napkin every 30-60 minutes. Starting the night of your tattoo appointment, cleanse your brows with the cleanser given to you. Use a small amount with lukewarm water and do light circular motions throughout your brows. Rinse the area and pat dry. Follow with a pea sized amount of the given ointment to each eyebrow. You will follow this routine morning and night twice a day for approximately 7-14 day till there is no more flaking. Each person's skin is different and healing times may vary.
